According to the news from Honda, the sales of its Insight hybrid in the U.S., they have not been the expected result and the company is planning a new strategy to work and invest in the development of new hybrid cars that cost less than the Insight, its price is below the $19,800.

According to a report in the Asahi Shimbun newspaper in Japan, Honda President Takeo Fukui said the automaker is working on two new hybrid models that cost less than the Insight with its starting price as mentioned above. They have already heard as intended to take the hybrid, but they’re a bit surprised if the second low-cost model would be the next CR-Z hybrid, which it is expected to join the Honda model line in 2011.

As expected the company is trying to win the battle of the hybrids so that new models will cost much less. The sad thing is that there is no news about when the new hybrid could reach the streets.
