Rising Sun: $200 million

For a while we spent a little post to Rising Sun, one of the world’s largest yachts. As we recall, this huge yacht, owned by Larry Ellison at the moment and it was designed by David Geffen who was one of the most prestigious and renowned naval architect, John Bannenberg (the same design which include the Kingdom 5KR, Carinthia VII and Limitless).

This huge yacht is equipped with:
- Four MTU 20V 8000 M90 diesel generating a total of 36,000 kW (50,000 hp).
- Four propellers that allow it to reach a cruising speed of 28 knots (52 km / h).
- A total habitable area of no less 8000 square meters, distributed over 5 decks.
- Gym / spa and sauna.
- An extensive wine cellar.
- Private cinema with a giant plasma screen.
- A basketball court on the main deck, which can be used as a helicopter pad.

It is estimated that the Rising Sun had a production cost that exceeded $ 200 million, but even more surprising is perhaps the fact that holding requires approximately $ 25 million a year.
